It is with a heavy heart that we have to share that Zona was put to sleep this afternoon. She had rapidly developed an auto-immune disease over the past few days, which basically means her red blood cells were attacking themselves. This left her anemic and her liver started to fail. Even with treatment there was only a 50% chance of survival. She will be missed more than words can describe as she was definitely more than a pet. We are just glad that she did not have to suffer this over a long period of time and that she is now looking down on us. We will miss you sleeping in the middle of us and snuggling on the couch...and wiggling around to greet us when we got home. 
Bella will miss her buddy to get into trouble with and play catch with (as she was looking for you tonight to play with)

Cosmo will no doubt miss being your pillow. You had good times chasing squirrels in Michigan and playing in the snow.

These are such great pictures of Zona. They show how much you loved her. I cried when I saw them. She has given you great memories and you all were a great family for her. I love her jumping around in the snow in MI. She did have a lot of energy.
Zona I will miss your visits to Nana's house to play with Nico and send Gus into hiding!! You were all wiggles and that's what made you so special. I know you are in a better place where you won't feel sick anymore. Love and kisses to a very special grand-dog!

Oh I am so sorry... Atleast Zona wasn't in pain for too long. Pets are more than pets they are family.
