Sedona

Joel took Friday off and we headed up to Sedona. It had rained and cooled everything down. When we got up to Sedona it was cold and nice to be in a jacket. We stayed at the Briar Patch Inn which is a cute little B&B. Our little cottage was across from the sheep - Wooley and Bully. A nice lady that was staying there gave the girls carrots to feed the sheep. Gabby was brave and feed them by herself. Oak Creek was on the back of the property so it was fun to hike around with the kids...even if it took them awhile to get over getting dirty....we have such city kids. Jeremiah loved throwing rocks into the Creek.

Joel had the great idea of getting the girls to walk into the middle of the creek on the rocks. After helping get the girls out there...one of my feet fell in...which got me laughing. When helping the girls back Gabby completely fell in all the way. Luckily the water was refreshing and not cold...but we did have to dry her clothes by the fire.

Since Sedona is so beautiful I took Bella's 6 year old pictures...Gabby wanted a few too. Our girls are gorgeous. We waited for the sparkly hats at the end and Bella turned into a posing diva...she cracks me up.

15 months

Jeremiah had his 15 month check up on Monday. He loves to read and talk...he goes around and says booooook. He loves his Elmo books and letter book. He was 23.5 pounds and 31.75 inches.  He seems like such little boy these days. He says so many words (Mommy, Bella, Gabby, Nana, Papa, Gus, Banana, More, Football, Touchdown, Ball, Milk, Thank You, Please, NuNu, Throw, Yes, No, Book...but his favorite word is Dadd--ee)

Fall Break

It's strange planning things to do around school breaks now. Bella had a week off so we tried to do some fun things (after the dentist on Monday). The weather finally cooled down into the 90s so we headed to the zoo one day and then to the monarch butterfly exhibit at the desert botanical gardens. Jeremiah loved seeing the animals, especially the monkeys. They were so close he just kept squealing at them. When we saw the baboons through the glass he was fine until they got up close.

Bella's SIX

I can't believe Bella is now six!!! I'm not sure where the time has gone and every day I look at her and can't believe how much older she looks. She is so tall and so smart it hard to think she's only in Kindergarten. She loves to read and draw. She is writing in a journal with her teacher at school. She has started to sound words out when she's writing and does a great job. We have started reading chapter books and she has a computer program at school called Dreambox that she works on for math. When we went to her appointment she was still at 97% for weight and height. At the dentist she looked great and her adult teeth are coming in.

We had a small birthday at Papa and Nana's house. She asked for mozzarella and Roma tomatoes and kabobs with corn on the cob. She got Lego friends and chapter books.

Fall Soccer - Blue Mermaids and Yellow Tigers

Soccer has started again and they've had two games so far. Gabby's team is the Blue Mermaids. The first game she scored 1 goal and the next game she scored 2. Since she has a May birthday she is on the youngest in her division, but that doesn't stop her from getting in there and taking the ball away and scoring. She still runs to Joel after each goal.

Bella is our intense player. She loves to get in there and score. She scored once in the first game and 2 (3 according to her) in the second. They've been working on passing so she gets excited cheering on for her teammates. Half her team is the same so they are getting used to playing together really well and have made some great friendships.

If you ask Jeremiah what's the best part of his sisters' games it would be getting into the snacks - especially orange slices. It also takes one of us to chase him during both games from running on the field and trying to take the ball away.

Bella's Field Trip to the Firehouse and Police Station

I was lucky enough to go on Bella's 2nd field trip to the Fire Station and Police Department. It was a short walk from the school with a nice playground to eat lunch at. The kids had a blast going through the fire truck and police car. When leaving school I was able to snap a few photos of the Kindergarten Garden. They had planted "salad" as Bella calls lettuce and a few other things. It is fun seeing how Bella interacts in her class.
