State Fair

Yesterday we headed to the fair with Uncle Chaddy and Aunt Stephie. We weren't sure if Bella would go on any rides, but we were shocked by her dare devil spirit. When she was little she was fearless and would climb and jump off everything. Then she was scared of the merry-go-round last year at the zoo so I wasn't sure what to expect even though she loves the merry-go-round now. But she loved all the rides and kept pointing to the adult rides to go on.

Daddy and Chad made the climb (barely) to the top of the slide and came down with Bella. For a second I thought Bella was going to just sit down and go by herself but Joel grabbed her.
She seemed to like this ride, but this pictures shows otherwise...

She did love the helicopter she went on by herself.
That's Joel and Bella at the top of the ferris wheel. I thought she might freak out at the top, but she would not stop asking to go on it (I think because we have a carnival book with a picture of cookie monster on one she wanted to ride it). They even had to stop at the top to let someone else one and Bella was looking over and waving and the seats were swinging...I think Joel was a little scared she would try and stand up or fall off.
Gabby even had a little ride on a tractor. She seemed to have fun but think next year will be more fun when she can ride too.
Bella giving her sister a little love after the ferris wheel
Gabby did enjoy petting the pigs in the petting zoo. Bella freaked out though. Chad had bought food for the animals (as you can see his friend sneaking under his arm) and they swarmed us when we walked in. This was the only time Bella would stand on the ground until Chad's friend came over. There were lamas, sheep and goats and some were pretty big and jumped up on Chad.
Of course you have to play games...
which means you find a booth where you are guaranteed a win (when you are the only one to play).
Bella won a giraffe, but Gabby quickly claimed it as "mine" (her new favorite word). She would not let go of it, even when she was out of the stroller she was carrying it around and dancing with it. Luckily Bella was too busy with the rides to care that Gabby was now the owner of the "raffe"
Food was another focus of the trip...I couldn't wait for curly fries and Indian fry bread (both were fantastic). Gabby wasn't sure of the cotton candy. It was so light she couldn't figure out that you ate it.
but both devoured their corn. Gabby just kept looking for more kernels and it finally had to get taken away when there was none left.
We had a fantastic sunset to finish off the evening.

Drawing Tigers and Sharks

Bella seems to be blossoming everyday...and I LOVE watching her grow and learn. Besides her new fondness of making up stories, she has started connecting her drawing/coloring with actual objects. The other day at the ENT's office they have a giant chalkboard. Waiting for over an hour gave her lots of time to play. She was so intense and drew a rectangle and then a square inside of it. I was pretty impressed since all of her previous drawings were just lines and circles all over the place. Then she made a tiger with stripes. She added eyes, ears, tail and stripes. It looked more like a bug but she was so detailed with creating this tiger. Today when I picked her up from school she had drawn a shark and fish. She was so excited to tell me all about her picture (two ovals with dots in them).

Tonight when we were working on letters she says out of the blue, "Mom I have a great idea" and then ran and got a different marker to write with, then would say again "Mom I have another idea" and would go and get another pen. After she did her letter "L" she wanted me to help her with the letter "T" and eventually just wanted me to do the first page. When I was done she said "Awesome. Good Job Mommy. Okay my turn" She's such a great little cheerleader.

Gabby is such a cuddle bug. Tonight I told her to tell Bella good night, so she ran up to her and tackled her to the ground and just laid on the biggest snuggle and kiss. Bella was trying to get up but Gabby had her pinned and just kept hugging her. It was the cutest thing and I couldn't get to my camera fast enough (actually I didn't think there was any angle I could get to capture that moment, so I just enjoyed the moment).

Poor baby seems to react to antibiotics. She had 3 blow out diapers yesterday at school...so when I went to pick her up they had put on a spare outfit. It was a yellow striped ducky romper...but was a 3/6 month size, well Gabby is in 24 months. I don't even know how they got this thing snapped...but it was so funny. When I picked her up today...she had only one blow out (apparently it was huge though) but her poor bottom is so red from a rash...but the first thing she said was "poop" and pointed to her bottom. It was so pitiful.

Happy Halloween

There are three posts... but so many pictures I made two of them quick scrapbooks...hope everyone had a great Halloween. Both girls have ear infections and Bella already had an ENT appointment coming up this week...so I'm sure tubes will be put in for the 2nd time this week or next...please keep her in your prayers.

My birthday, the girls and funny stories

I was playing with the girls today and decided to try a pony on Gabs...and she looked so cute...
Last weekend we celebrate Chad and my birthdays at ROKA AKOR...so yummy..the girls were big fan of their cups and straws.
Bella did so great with chopsticks and sushi
Monkey See Monkey Do...

The girls seem inseparable lately. Gabby would follow Bella to the end of the earth...I typically hear her saying "Bella where are you?" when trying to find her, or "hi bella" from her car seat.
Bella all dressed up before breakfast.
Gabby made a picnic on the blanket the other day, which included her cup, snack and books.
Bella "shopping" around the house.
A few weeks ago was spirit week at school. So the girls dressed up in their OSU dresses Granna had made them.
Doing art the other day...we made pumpkins and that didn't last long so we added turkeysputting on make up
Gabs and her books...she loves all the animals ones and makes the noises with it. Oinking like a pig is hard so she moos, but she's got the rooster down...and it's too cute.Rocking their babies

Other recent events would including me slamming Bella's hand in the car the other day. I had my hands full and Gabby loves to run once the doors open from daycare, so I was trying to not let her run into the street and opened the passengers door and threw all the papers and cups in (thinking Bella was behind me with her old teacher) and shut the door. Bella said "mommy" and I just knew what happened without seeing it. I turned and her whole hand was in the car door. I opened it and it bruised instantly...so we headed to find Papa T to look at it. Luckily it was just bruised and swollen but no broken bones...probably got lucky that her whole hand was in the door instead of a few fingers.

The other day Joel and I heard "Yeah Gabby did it" so curious we went into Bella's room to find Gabby on the top bunk...still have no idea how she got up there and how Bella helped her. She is a climber and I ended up going with dad on Wednesday to check out a bump from when she drove off a climbing toy and landed with her head on a corner of the table.

Bella has also started making up "once upon a time" stories. they are pretty cute. They spent the night with mom and dad a few weeks ago and went to see our friend's daughter win junior homecoming court. So her story went like this "Once upon a time there was a princess, Mackenzie, and a king. I was the princess and we lived in a pink castle. We ate cookies and cupcakes and had pancakes for breakfast. The end. And that all really happened mommy."

3rd birthday, dedication, gymnastics, pumpkin patch

There is no way around this being a really long post. Since coming back from Italy (more pictures on Facebook from the trip), things have been a whirlwind. The girls have been hilarious and testing at the same time. Bella was obsessed with giving us tattoos at night. She would get her magnidoodle out and put socks on for gloves and go to town on our arms and legs. She was so intense it was so funny...have no idea where exactly she picked this up.
Gabby is talking so much. She loves to carry heavy things around so when I asked her to show me her muscles...this is what we got. (She also gives and says "Good Game")

She is all about climbing up the stool to get things off the counter. She'll even push the stool around to get her toothbrush...or bananas off the counter.
For Bella's actual birthday we went to breakfast with Nana and Papa T, then headed to the park to feed the ducks (which we later saw were all sleeping on the other side of the pond) so we settled for pigeons.Bella (and Gabby) finally got on the carousel and loved it...after trying 3 times before with lots of crying and getting off, this was the first successful attempt.
and then onto the choo-choo
and of course had to end up with and icee (had to get a 2nd one since Gabby didn't want to share)
and popcorn
That night Granna and Pappa got into town so Saturday we headed to McCormick Railroad Park
to ride another choo-choo
and merry-go-round and played on the sides forever
and swings (this was the first time Bella had been on the big swings) Sunday morning Pappa dedicated Gabby at church in a ceremony after the service. Gabby looked so precious in the dress Granna had made her.
Gabby was a little tired and we had to let her have Joel's phone so she would sit still. Then in the afternoon we had a joint party to celebrate Bella's 3rd birthday and Gabby's dedication - a Tinkerbell party of course
Bella and Gabby loved the bouncy castle and balloons...I think Gabby liked the bouncy more than everyone
Gabby of course loved the food. Joel couldn't figure out why she threw a fit when he tried to tear a piece off for her...then we figured that she wanted to eat the whole piece by herself...she is getting to be quite another independent child.
Bella showing off her Tinkerbell Tattoo Gabs and Nana (Gabby still eating pizza - she was a machine)Then onto cake
and presents
That night we put together the microphone from Granna and Pappa...and Bella was all about rocking it out.
Their new stove and dishes from Nana and Papa T have also been a huge hit...and the girls are constantly cooking.
and the princess dress up clothes and tent Bella's snow white outfit from "Stephie-Chad" was a little small but Gabby loves it to play princess too
Monday Bella started gymnastics...and LOVED it. She even put her leotard back on to practice later in the day. They started on the trampolines, then went into the "tumblebugs" room which has smaller versions of gym equipment and finished with the foam pit. Bella has also been a huge fan of the vampire teeth we got at Peter Piper Pizza
The two emptying out the pantry
Today we went to the pumpkin patch at Mother Nature's Farm. We went early since it was back into triple digits this weekend.
Gabby loved picking out a little pumpkin to decorate.
Bella claiming the big pumpkin to take home...lately when Bella says "Cheese" for a picture she closes one eye...it's so funny
Gabby loved the strawFeeding the cow and goats
Bella wasn't too sure at first about the cow, but was comfortable feeding the goats. decorating with stickers
ended with a cherry sno-cone

Bella also had her 3 year check up, she was 41 pounds and 39 inches (which kept her in the 95+% for both and she's wearing 5T in most clothes). She should be taller than mommy by a few inches and will around 5'8". Bella of course talked the pediatrician's ear off. Bella is speaking non stop these days and comes out with things where I have no idea where they came from. The other day on the way home she said "mommy you said we were going to Nana's after you picked me up from preschool" on the way to the pumpkin patch she informed us "there's is going to be poop and pee-pee at the pumpkin patch from the animals". She has moved up to the Preschool class and we were 2 out of 4 with crying when I dropped her off last week, but 4 out of 4 with happy pick ups. She is with all her friends again that moved up the last two months...so she likes that.

Gabby is just cracks us up. Bella is funny but Gabby is more of a clown. She loves to shut the doors and hide until you come find her. She is picking up so many words and putting some together like "animal", "thank you", "love you" and "good game". She also goes around saying "Bella are you?" and in class the other day the teacher asked who wanted to go outside and Gabby raised her hand and said "I do". She is so smart like her sister. When I pick her up from school she goes to the fridge and once opened grabs her two cups. If one is empty she grabs the juice or milk and hands it to me to fill up the one that's empty...then grabs her paper for the day and waits by the door. She is also into animal noises especially a monkey, lion and duck. I did get her to tweet at the chicks today too. She mimics everything Bella does and is such a snuggle bug. She'll just run into our arms and snuggle or grab our legs and then walk off. Gabby also loves to grab as much as she can and carry it around. Yesterday she carried out her cups, two animals and crackers in each hand all the way out to the car. In the morning she will grab all her blankets and animals from her crib (like Bella used to do) and carry them out to the family room.

A little glimpse of Italy

We are having a great time but are anxious to get home...I'm missing the little ones. I keep seeing all these cute little girls eating gelato and makes me miss my bella and gabby. Anyway, we have walked our feet off and have seen so much great stuff...we are also having a lot of problems with the internet here so here are just a few...
